Koumei Warframe Worth the Grind?

Warframe’s latest update, Koumei & the Five Fates released earlier this month and brings quite a few new content for players to check out. Chief among them is the new Warframe, Koumei, who is officially the 58th Warframe in their ever-expanding roster.
So today, we’re checking out the latest Koumei Warframe to break down its abilities, how it feels to play, and how to get your hands on the Warframe in-game. That said, if you’re not down for the grind (and trust us, it’s a grind), you can find cheap Warframe Platinum for sale to speed up the process.
How to Get the Koumei Warframe?
If you’re keen on getting your hands on the new Koumei Warframe, you’re in luck. There are three different ways you can obtain the new Warframe so depending on your preference (and inclination to the grind), you can choose whichever method you want.
Here’s what you need to know:
Shrine Defense Drop Table Rewards
Completing the ‘Shrine Defense’ Warframe Mission that debuted with the Koumei and the Five Fates update will reward you with items from the mission drop table. The Shrine defense drop table Warframe rewards include –
- Koumei’s Blueprint / Component Blueprints
- Higasa (Rifle Primary) Blueprint and Components
- Amanata (Polearm Melee) Blueprint and Components
- Endo
- Meso Relics
Of the three available methods to obtain the Koumei Warframe, this will be the most grindy of the bunch.
“Offer Fate Pearls” Shop
Alternatively, you can also obtain the Warframe Koumei’s Blueprint and Component Blueprints by exchanging Fate Pearls. You can exchange Fate Pearls at ‘Kouemi’s Shrine’, which you’ll find in Cetus, Earth.
Unfortunately, though, Fate Pearls are awarded only after successful Warframe Shrine Defense runs, with each run rewarding 14-18 Fate Pearls or 20-24 Fate Pearls if you are on the Warframe Steel Path.
It’s still quite the grind but can help obtain the blueprints faster by earning Fate Pearls while hopefully getting Blueprints from the Warframe mission loot drop rewards.
In-Game Market
The last method to obtain the Koumei Warframe is by purchasing it from the in-game Market. You can purchase just the Koumei Warframe individually, or you can can get it with the Koumei Visions Bundle or Warframe Kouemi Fate Bundle.
Kouemi’s Kit (Abilities & Passive)
Now we’ll take a look at Warframe Kouemi’s kit to better understand how she plays.
Passive: Shadow’s Trinity
Koumei’s passive ability, Shadow’s Trinity, will inflict a random Status Effect from one of Koumei’s Warframe weapons every 60 seconds. This effect will also last for 60 seconds. This essentially gives her a 100% up-time on Status Effect application which is great for crowd control and damage.
Ability 1: Kumihimo
Her Kumihimo ability summons ‘threads of destiny’ which inflics a random Elemental Status Effect on enemies that come into contact with her threads.
If you manage to role triple sixes, the created threads inflict one of every Elemental Status Effect making her deadly with passive damage surrounding her immediate vicinity.
Ability 2: Omikuji
Her Omikuji ability will give her a challenge to complete. Successfully completing the challenge rewards her a ‘Decree’, which is essentially a buff. However, if you get an unlucky roll, she will instead get a debuff but you can reject the Warframe Omikuji in this case.
If you get a triple six roll, you’ll get a Decree without needing to complete a challenge. If you complete an Omikuji challenge in Duviri, you’ll be able to select your Decree instead of getting one randomly.
Ability 3: Omamori
Omamori is Koumei’s Helminth ability and summons Omamori Charms. These Warframe charms give her a chance to heal herself from enemy attacks, instead of taking damage. The number of charms you receive depends on Koumei’s dice roll.
If you get a triple-six roll, you’ll be invulnerable for the duration of the ability.
Ability 4: Bunraku
Lastly, she has the ‘Bunraku’ skill which is here Railjack Kinesis ability. This essentially strings up enemies, essentially stunning them and applies Warframe Status Effects depending on her dice role.
Getting a triple six roll causes additional Status Effect stacks over time, while simultaneously extending Bunraku’s range to enemies behind Warframe Koumei.
The Verdict
Now that we’ve had our hands on Koumei for a few weeks, we can confidently say she’s a beastly performer in almost every content we’ve tried so far. Personally speaking, I’m a fan of Warframe characters that deal status effects constantly and her dice roll mechanic spices things up just enough to keep me interested.
But hey, that’s just me. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m liking what I’m seeing so far.
That said, Koumei is just one of a multitude of available Warframes to try. But if you’re trying to expand your Warframes collection quick, you can always buy Warframe account from U7BUY with everything you need!
